Bio

Riley, 57, grew up in Bowling Green and was a Warren East High School graduate, he said, before going to Western Kentucky University, where he majored in history and had a minor in government/political science. He worked at Lindsey Wilson College for three years, teaching, coaching and "doing a little bit of everything" which is common at a smaller campus like that, he said. While at LWC, he earned his master's degree in education and history, and in August 1984, he began working for Barren County Schools. While working for Barren County Schools, he was a teacher 12 years, an assistant principal 15 years and principal four years, he said. Nineteen of those years, he was also coaching - five as assistant and 14 as head coach for basketball. His wife is a registered nurse who has spent her career working in long-term care, and they have two adult sons.
