Bio

Dante Pittman is a proud homegrown product of Wilson County. He comes from a family of generations of Wilsonians. After graduating from Wilson County Public Schools, he went on to college at UNC-Chapel Hill. Public education has shaped his life and provided great opportunities. He decided to come back home to the community that raised him. Dante served on the leadership team for the City of Wilson as Assistant to the City Manager and Human Relations Director. He currently serves as an officer in the North Carolina Army National Guard. Prior to joining the City of Wilson, Dante was an inaugural fellow of the Lead for North Carolina program at the UNC School of Government. Dante currently serves Wilson in a variety of ways and is dedicated to building bridges in the community. He is the Chair of the Wilson County Department of Social Services Board of Directors. His service extends from working to improve our public schools with the Wilson Education Partnership to serving on the vestry in his faith community. Dante has also served on the Wilson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as the City of Wilson representative. Dante wants to make life easier for folks in eastern North Carolina. He will be a champion for affordable housing, public education, and economic opportunity.
