Now serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Ellzey remains dedicated to representing Texas values in Washington-supporting veterans, strengthening national defense, backing small businesses, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.
In the 119th Congress, Congressman Ellzey serves on the House Appropriations Committee, where he helps guide the allocation of federal funds. He continues to serve on the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Subcommittee and the Defense Subcommittee, which oversee critical areas such as national security, law enforcement, and scientific innovation. Before coming to Congress, Jake served 20 years in the United States Navy as a helicopter pilot and later as a fighter pilot, flying F-14s and F/A-18s. He was deployed nine times, including five combat tours, and served a ground tour in support of SEAL Team 5 in Iraq. He concluded his military career as Air Boss aboard the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier.
Following his military service, Congressman Ellzey worked as a military contractor in Afghanistan, small business owner, as a commercial airline pilot, and as a Commissioner on the Texas Veterans Commission. He also served as the Texas State Representative for House District 10 before being elected to Congress.
Born in Perryton, Texas, and raised on the LZ family ranch, Jake and his wife, Shelby, are proud to raise their two children in Ellis County, where faith, service, and community remain at the heart of their family.
