2006 PAGE Fall Conference

November 3 - 5, 2006

Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel

Savannah, Georgia

Theme:  The Learning Zone Classroom: Strategies to Make it Happen

Focus:  Every classroom is a learning zone and every teacher must focus on skills that boost student achievement. Three of the most important skills for boosting student achievement are engaging students in the teacher’s questions and prompting students to generate their own questions, helping students learn to summarize what they have read or heard in class discussion, and teaching them techniques for remembering what is learned. The Fall Conference focuses on these three powerful, but vastly under-used techniques: questioning, summarizing and remembering.

TRS Pre-Retirement Counseling at PAGE:  The Teachers Retirement System is offering individual pre-retirement counseling appointments with a professional retirement planner at the PAGE Fall Conference. All members within 5 years of retirement are encouraged to visit www.trsga.com, click on the Workshops & Counseling link, to sign up for a counseling appointment. Specific appointment times will be available, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions or problems during the registration process, please contact Anita Vichare at 404-352-6615. TRS counselors look forward to meeting with you!
