The major admission requirement is the presence
of an emotional disturbance or behavior disorder severe enough to require a specialized treatment program. Students with
secondary handicapping conditions are accepted, if the primary disability is a severe emotional disturbance or severe
behavioral disorder. Students who have mild to moderate behavior or discipline problems are not eligible.
A student will be considered for psychoeducational program services based upon a comprehensive case study
and eligibility report. This report should document the severity, duration, frequency, and intensity of
one or more of the characteristics of the disability category of emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD)
or document the characteristics of the disability category of autism.
Ordinary classroom behavior problems and social problems do not automatically qualify a student for placement.
